A Little Biography of Horrors
Howling werewolves, tormented vampires and grave robbers from outer space. The Ghoulstars raddle the graves with their catchy and powerful blend of metal, horror punk and striking B-horror/sci-fi imagery.
Founded in 2021 by the Kuolemanlaakso – the top ten charting Finnish death doom outfit – mastermind, guitarist Markus "Daddy Ghoul" Laakso, The Ghoulstars consists of seasoned musicians with a solid fanbase and coffin full of critically acclaimed and commercially successful albums under their belts.
The band's highly anticipated debut The Dark Overlords of the Universe is a bullseye mixture of The Misfits, White Zombie, Entombed and the fifties shades of Volbeat, but with a unique, catchy, and disturbingly entertaining twist. Surf beats, western themes, eerie movie samples... Nothing is too sacred for these pop culture nerds and musically well-versed ghouls!
"The album is a love letter to everything blew my mind as a pre-teen and beyond: Eighties aesthetics, nineties bangers, larger than life monsters, killer riffs, big choruses, surprising curveballs, and the sheer joy of all pieces falling into the right places. As my long-time collaborator V. Santura put it, the record is quite unique, catchy and really fun to listen to", states Laakso.
The band's energetic live shows have already attracted the attention of the press, promoters, and fans alike. They've already shared the stage with best-selling acts and headlined shows – without releasing a single track.
Now, The Ghoulstars are getting ready to unleash their debut blockbuster, The Dark Overlords of the Universe. The 10-track monster was mixed and mastered by the legendary V. Santura of Triptykon at the world-renowned Woodshed Studio in Germany
So, be forewarned: Laakso, vocalist Arthur "LL Ghoul A" Thure, bassist Markus "Hella Ghoul" Makkonen, and drummer Toni "Ghoulio" Ronkainen are ready to take over the world like the dark overlords they are. Don't be a fool, howl at the moon!
